A Historic First Honoring Trailblazing Voices in Christian Gospel Radio
Atlanta, GA September 01, 2025 – Atlanta will shine as the stage for a groundbreaking moment in Christian Gospel Radio this fall. The Spin Awards Weekend Experience, happening October 23 – 25, 2025, will debut the Tracy Morgan Excellence in Broadcasting Award for the first time at the Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville, GA.
The award honors distinguished professionals whose work reflects the excellence, longevity, and spiritual purpose that Tracy Morgan has modeled throughout her remarkable career. Presented annually to men and women in Christian Gospel Radio, this Legacy Award represents the best of what The Spin Awards uplifts: trailblazers, pioneers, and culture-shapers.
What makes this year especially historic is Tracy Morgan’s own legacy. She is a multi-time Stellar Gospel Music Award winner, including Announcer of the Year, the 2014 Reach Award for Outstanding Achievement by an Announcer, and most recently, a 2025 Stellar Award winner, further cementing her continued excellence. Under her leadership, WBBP 1480 AM won the Stellar Award for Radio Station of the Year – Large Market in 2015. She was inducted into the Broadcasters Hall of Fame (Akron, OH) in 2005 and the Columbia School of Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2014. She also became the first woman inducted into the Spin Awards Hall of Fame in 2022 and is a two-time recipient of the President Joe Biden Lifetime Achievement Award. Now, in 2025, an award bearing her name—the Tracy Morgan Excellence in Broadcasting Award—will debut, marking another milestone not only for the Spin Awards but for Atlanta’s reputation as a city that champions progress, faith, and excellence
